Reasons We Should Be Interested In Our Dreams:
1. God has declared that He communicated through dreams and visions in the Old Testament.
Numbers 12:6 “Listen to my words: “When there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams.””
2. He continues to do so in the New Testament.
Acts 2:17 “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy”
3. Our dreams can serve as a means for God to counsel and guide us.
Job 33:14 “For God does speak-now one way, now another-though no one perceives it. 15 In a dream, in a vision in the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they slumber in their beds, 16 he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, 17 to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, 18 to preserve them from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword.
4. He can also grant supernatural gifts, wisdom, and understanding through dreams.
In Gibeon, the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, “Ask what I shall give thee…”
“Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge they people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this so great a people?”
“..Behold, I have done according to they words: lo, I have given thee a wise and understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee…” And Solomon awoke; and, it was a dream. (1 Kings 3:5,9,12,15)
